Hello Kitty: Big City Dreams is a mini-game based adventure that follows Kitty in her recent move to the Big City where she will meet up with her old Sanrio pals like Badtz-Maru, Pochacco and My Melody and even make some new friends. Players will be able to choose between two distinct modes - exploration and mini-game. In the exploration mode, Kitty moves around her apartment, explores the Big City and interacts with items and inhabitants she comes across. In the mini-game mode, Kitty will play through a variety of mini-games and earn friendship points that will allow her to purchase costumes, ride the bus or train, and of course customize her apartment.

Kitty will be very busy helping and playing with her friends, from trying to beat Kerropi's Arcade Hero score, to lending Tuxedosam a hand, serving customers in Restaurant Rush. Every girl knows something about fashion and when My Melody is in trouble, Kitty is more than willing to become an impromptu fashion assistant at her clothing store. After a long day out and about assisting friends in need, Kitty needs a stress-free night on the town, only to find her crush Daniel Star, at Destination: Dance. One can only imagine the fun and exciting adventures that await Kitty - and gamers - as they explore The Big City together.

Kitty's ultimate goal in the Big City is to move from her first-floor apartment, where the game starts, to her dream suite in the sky. It's up to players to help Kitty collect enough Friendship Points, by working and helping her friends, so she can earn her way to the apartment of her dreams. The apartment complex has five floors, in which rooms get bigger at each floor and end with Kitty's ultimate goal - the Super Deluxe Suite.

"Yesterday Japanese company Uniden announced [JP] it will start shipping a new 19-inch LCD-TV featuring the Sanrio character Hello Kitty from the middle of July.

The TL19TX1 offers extra-low power consumption (72kWH per year), a resolution of 1440×810, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 and 300cd/m² brightness. The device is equipped with a digital TV tuner, 2 speakers (3W each) and HDMI/component interfaces. Uniden says the TV is designed to be very simple to use.

The Japan-only Hello Kitty-TV will be available in black or white for $650."

Japan's Sanrio says its 'Hello Kitty' character, traditionally popular with girls and young women, will soon appear on items targeted at young men.

TOKYO (AP) -- Hello Kitty is no sexist.

The cute cuddly white cat from Japan's Sanrio, usually seen on toys and jewelry for girls and young women, will soon don T-shirts, bags, watches and other products targeting young men, company spokesman Kazuo Tohmatsu said Friday.

"We think Hello Kitty is accepted by young men as a design statement in fashion," he said.

The feline for-men products will go on sale in Japan next month, and will be sold soon in the U.S. and other Asian nations, according to Sanrio.

The usual bubble-headed shape of Hello Kitty was slightly changed for a more rugged, cool look to appeal to men in their teens and early 20s.

For example, a picture of the cat on a $36 black T-shirt has the words, "hello kitty," instead of the usual dots for the eyes and nose.

Hello Kitty is one of mascot-obsessed Japan's biggest "character" hits, decorating everything from a humble $1 eraser to a $48,000 diamond necklace.

The planned products mark the first time Sanrio is developing Hello Kitty items especially for males, Tohmatsu said.

But Sanrio had tried a "limited edition" collaboration in men's clothing with designers in Tokyo's chic Harajuku section earlier this year, and they proved popular, he said.

"Young men these days grew up with character goods," said Tohmatsu. "That generation feels no embarrassment about wearing Hello Kitty."
